Audio on earphones does not always work

Iphone 6

Version 9.3.5

Issue started about 3 weeks after I received phone

When I plug in earphones I sometimes get static and then the earphones may or may not work. I have used multiple sets of earphones and bought a new set. Have the same problem.

iPhone 6 Plus, iOS 9.3.5

If this won't help, you should take your iPhone to the Apple Store for a diagnostic.
